| Abstract | The University of the Philippines Health Service provides health care services to the entire UP community since 1929. At present, the facility is undergoing series of renovations but remains problematic in terms of circulation and flow of users. This design proposal worked on the redevelopment plan for the entire UP Health Service improving circulation through efficiently planning the spaces into their proper hospital zones. An emerging theory in hospital planning and design called biophilic design, which focuses on transcending the gap between nature and the built environment, was incorporated in this project. This work proposes a design to meet the vision of UPHS to be the center of excellence for the delivery of quality and comprehensive primary health care and be a place where the UP community entrusts their health issues. |
