Abstract This qualitative descriptive study described the knowledge, attitudes, and practices of family planning among married couples with very low income in Barangay U. P. Campus, Quezon City. It explored how comprehensive their knowledge of family planning and its methods are, their accessibility to family planning education and services from the government and their community, the family planning methods that they practice, and their attitude towards the different family planning methods. The data were gathered from 15 married couples through a one-on-one interview. Respondents include those residing in urban poor communities within Barangay U.P. Campus with a monthly income below the poverty threshold, ₱13,797.00. They are expected to have at least knowledge or experience in family planning to participate in this study. The thematic analysis was used to analyze the data gathered from the participants. The results of the study show that the knowledge of participants on family planning and its methods is generally limited with the most basic information needed to be known. Their accessibility to family planning education and services is readily available but a majority of the participants only avail of the services provided by the Barangay Health Center, Hospital, and Lying-in Clinic. The study showed that the participants are all able to practice different family planning methods, however, their attitudes towards the different methods vary depending on their personal experience, effectiveness, and convenience of the family planning method.
