Abstract The challenges of remote online learning intensify in higher education institutions (HEIs). According to the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), HEIs were given academic freedom and should implement available distance learning, e-learning, and other alternative delivery modes to students. The four universities this study covered are University of The Philippines Diliman, Polytechnic University of the Philippines, University of Santo Tomas, and De La Salle University-Manila. This study explored the implications of remote online learning among Journalism and Broadcasting Students. It primarily looked into the factors that affected the learning of the students and it was determined that remote online learning is not the best mode of teaching Journalism and Broadcasting. It used one theory namely The Community of Inquiry (COI) as its backbone. With the use of individual interviews and surveys, the study was able to determine the social, teaching, and cognitive presence of students under remote online learning
