Abstract Rising youth participation in sports comes with injury risk. In the Philippines, Basketball is one of the actively engaged sports in youth. This brings to attention the need for coaches to be equipped with first aid knowledge. The study assessed the first aid knowledge of high school basketball coaches and the decision-making strategy of the coaches in game situations. Ten high school-level basketball coaches from Quezon City participated in the study by completing two questionnaires: the First Aid Assessment test (FAA) and the Game Situation Data Sheet (GSDS). Out of ten coaches, six had passed the FAA. Further analysis of the data involved included a Pearson Product correlation between first-aid assessment scores and years of coaching experience with a 0.05 level of significance. The Chi-square analysis for independence was utilized to further investigate the relationship between first-aid assessment scores game decision strategies, as well as game decision strategies and years of coaching experience. The findings revealed that there is no significant correlation between FAA scores and years of coaching experience as well as FAA scores and game decisions. However, there is a possible relationship between game decision strategies and years of coaching experience.
