Resource Title Drive Wise: A Gamified Approach in Shaping Motorcycle Driver’s Behavior to Alleviate Traffic Congestion in Metro Manila
Date Issued 30 June 2024
Abstract Motorcycle driver behavior significantly contributes to traffic congestion in Metro Manila. Drivers often engage in risky behaviors to navigate heavy traffic, leading to bottlenecks and increased road traffic accidents. These behaviors disrupt the traffic flow and are a serious safety problem for all road users.

This study aims to improve motorcycle driver behavior to alleviate traffic congestion and road safety through a behavior-tracking tool. This application serves as a tool to monitor driving habits, provide feedback, and incentivize safe driving practices. By tracking behaviors and offering rewards such as points, badges, and discounts, the application encourages drivers to adopt more disciplined and safer driving habits. The application features a combination of behavior tracking, positive reinforcement, and educational content to reduce risky driving behaviors and promote a safe culture among motorcycle drivers. Improving individual driving habits aims to contribute to a more orderly traffic flow and a safer road environment for all road users of Metro Manila.
