Resource Title | An impact assessment of health-related projects in the Ateneo de Manila University |
Date Issued | 24 May 2020 |
Abstract | Health innovation is entering a new age with factors such as patients’ increasing expectations for care and the adoption of more healthcare providers to digital health systems. Literature review states that universities play an important function in forming technological innovations through the Triple Helix system. Therefore, conducting an impact assessment of these innovations is relevant to effectively guide decision-making and strategic planning of institutions such as the Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU). This study collected health-related research project data of ADMU through surveys and records review. The data was then analyzed and significant impacts of the projects were derived through the use of the Research Impact Framework Model, focusing on the health-service impact area. The use of standard Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) across all projects was recommended to effectively capture impact. Addressing global problems, strengthening industry collaboration together with further studies to address barriers to adoption, and the use of other areas in the research impact framework to assess projects were also recommended. |
