Abstract | The status of sports in the Philippines has long been a problematic issue. The country‟s lack of a comprehensive development program which will guide the selection and training of our national athletes is still not addressed until now, in addition to the lack of support services and up-to-date training facilities for the athletes. In recent years, other countries have incorporated the use of institutional centers for sports development programs in order to improve the caliber of athletes that they produce. In this light, there is a need for a centralized training facility that will provide the special needs of athletes in their training process. In this realization, it is also taken into account that the only way to achieve consistent success in the international stage is to choose various focus sports wherein the country has the best chance in excelling. This design thesis provides an architectural solution for a centralized training facility that will help improve the performance level of Filipino athletes in competitive sports by producing a venue that would not only adequately house the these athletes, but also provide them a conducive location and a productive training system that will help them succeed and bring honor to the Philippines. |
