Date Issued April 2014
Abstract The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transexual (LGBT) community has always been a sector of society that is constantly under scrutiny. Because of this, LGBT literature has always been an outlet for them to discuss their issues. In this light, the study focused on the representation of LGBT in the library, in particular, the Filipiniana section. Three university libraries in Metro Manila were chosen, name hidden under guidance of the faculty for ideological reasons.

A total of 31 unique books were collected in the process across three university libraries. Edward Evans and Deoji Trinidad's methods were utilized in implementing a variation of content analysis, as well as building a comprehensive annotated bibliography.

The data gathered revealed that: (a) Most of the books were collections of short stories written by various authors, both LGBT and non-LGBT, (b) Most of the issues discussed in each books, with only 96.8% being the lowest representation, and (c) One University has around half of the collection from the other two, which entail a more strict acquisition process.
It was concluded that while the number of LGBT books in the Filipiniana section is small, it is still well-represented and diversity in the university libraries still have a lot of potential.
