Abstract In an ever changing educational landscape, school libraries must adapt to fit the needs of its users through constant collaboration and evaluation of its current collection especially now with the implementation of the Enhanced Basic Education System and, with it, the K-12 model of curriculum development. The study aimed to know the preparation practices PAASCU Level III accredited schools had undergone to support this change. The main objective of the study was to identify the extent of preparation the libraries underwent in order to support the K-12 Enhanced General Education System, how these affected their operational practices, and provide suggestions for other schools that are currently undergoing the shift to K-12.

The study employed the descriptive and qualitative methods of research. The respondents were librarians from the respective libraries of seven PAASCU Level III Accredited schools in Metro Manila but two schools were not able to participate because of scheduling conflicts. These private schools were purposely selected due to their PAASCU level of accreditation which the highest accreditation is given to basic education institutions in both the elementary and high school level.

The study revealed that each school had a different approach in supporting the K-12 model: some already supported it beforehand as part of their school plan, while others underwent relabeling of their supported school levels and revising of their library plan to account for the changes caused by the new education system. It is then recommended to widen the scope of the sample to other accreditation levels and even to public school libraries in other regional areas to further improve the study.
