Abstract The University of the Philippines Diliman Extension Program in Pampanga (URDEPP) has undergone various changes in name as well its location since its first establishment in the 1950s. The unit had transferred at least five times since its institution. There are several factors that affected these transfers and change of name. The unit transferred from Clark Air Base to San Fernando city, from San Fernando going back to Clark Field Pampanga and it skipped through different sites inside the latter. The different location of the unit greatly affected the name; from University of the Philippines College Clark Air Base to its recent modification to UPDEPP. At present, architecture for UPDEPP is confined to the adaptive reuse of a warehouse which was not designed to be used by an educational institution. The unit is about to move into a permanent site. Clark Development Corporation had awarded the permanent site for the unit. However, architecture solutions like basic component of the university such as are needed for the relocation to materialize.
This study would assess the current situation of the UPDEPP. The proponent aims to study the stated plan of the unit to be located on the given site. The study would focus on conceptualizing the relocation needs of the unit in the facilities that will support the idea of the unit to have a permanent site.
