| Abstract | This study made an attempt to explore whether the interior spaces of the available micro-dwellings in the market sufficiently address the minimum standards required in residential design that provide decent living conditions for beneficiary families in resettled communities. The study sought to address the following objectives: 1) Evaluate the interior space of the available micro-dwellings in the market; 2) Confirm whether the available micro-dwellings in the market sufficiently address the minimum standards required in residential interior design for decent living conditions; 3) Recommend interior spatial programming for the following: a) a micro-dwelling unit for households with 1-3 members and; b) micro-dwelling system for families with more members. Anchored on a Theoretical Framework that interweaves the Space Pattern Theory, Spatial Configuration and Space Syntax, the study used the comparative research design to find the better social housing among the available micro-dwellings. Likewise, it also used comparative analysis to provide grounds for improvement in the planning of the micro-dwellings’ interiors, considering their existing circumstances. For this study, purposive sampling was used in identifying four (4) types of micro-dwelling available in the Philippine market namely, Cubo Modular, PreFab Homes Philippines, Tiny House Philippines and Bahay Makabayan. Information on the cases was gathered through observations on their websites and social media pages. The four available micro-dwellings were evaluated and assessed in terms of size and affordability and their feasibility as options for socialized housing projects as per the regulations of the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC). After conducting the analysis, findings revealed that the units that could qualify as socialized housing alternative would be the Sarangani Model from Cubo Modular, Prefabricated House SMP-03 DryWall and Prefabricated House.
