Abstract Being the primary component of the country's religious sectors, the Catholic community takes a big part in the considerations of cultural and spiritual values employed in the Philippines. The religious activities held by the Filipino Catholics play a vital role to the continual nurturing of the essence of Catholicism in the Philippines.
Relating to the topic of spirituality, this thesis focused on one particular practice, the Catholic pilgrimage. However, as compared to the usual notion of pilgrimage in the country, which is usually done in rural and remote areas, the pilgrimage proposal in this study is integrated in a highly urbanized setting, thus creating an 'Urban Pilgrimage'. This thesis provided a system of pilgrimage parks and stations along the pilgrimage trail from EDSA Shrine to Antipolo Shrine,
traversing the Ortigas Avenue, one of the busiest highways in Metro Manila. Being the Pilgrimage Capital of the Philippines, the Antipolo Shrine was considered to be the primary legatee of this landscape design proposal. Through the intensive process of researching, analyzing and designing, an Urban Pilgrimage Plan for the sacred journey to the Pilgrimage Capital of the Philippines, was achieved in this thesis.
