| Abstract | Knowledge has become a vital asset of every organization in the public and private sectors because of continued technological advancement and globalization. Knowledge, according to Drucker (1995), produces transformative changes by allowing an individual or organization to make a different and more effective decision. The increasing value of knowledge as a resource has inspired the development of a discipline that allows any organization to manage knowledge effectively and efficiently. Organizational performance, decision-making, strategic planning, workplace efficiency, individual and inter-agency collaboration, and the development of an organizational knowledge base touched by knowledge management. Despite the discipline's growing popularity, there is still limited literature attempting to study and comprehend its significance in the Philippine public sector. Considering the lack of research on KM in the public sector, the goal of this study is to discover and explain additional facts and understanding. The study used a web-based survey involving key officials, supervisory staff, and people performing KM-related duties at a government agency to acquire primary data. Furthermore, the study also assessed and reviewed related literature to acquire secondary data that assisted the researcher in achieving the overall goals. The research uncovered various aspects and issue of KM in the public sector, particularly in NGAs. The findings revealed that NGAs place a greater emphasis on knowledge creation and acquisition initiatives. Through diverse processes, the NGAs make use of inter-agency knowledge, stimulate collaboration, and enable ongoing learning. There is a low level of implementation of documenting best practices from existing and retiring authorities and staff, regular knowledge audit, maintained knowledge database, and limited provision of KM tools, techniques, and technologies for the practice of KM in terms of capturing and preserving knowledge.
