| Abstract | A great portion of the country's rural areas live below the poverty line. Among the many causes is the underperforming agricultural sector, where a substantial number of the rural poor are engaged in subsistence production.Although previous studies have noted that investments in rural roads reduce poverty, there is little evidence of ways in which the pavement condition affects these impacts. Through the collection of empirical evidence, this void is addressed.The amin objective of the study is to determine if the pavement condition of farm-to-market road (FMR), a type of rural road that connects the production areas to market, significantly impacts the Farmers of Barangay Pindangan 2nd, Camiling, Tarlac. This study focused narrowly and deeply on two comparison groups within the barangay, with similar observed covariate distributions, expect for the intervention (surface condition of their FMRs). The comparison groups were carefully selected to obtain approximately unbiased estimates of the impacts of the intervention. Field-Based measurements and statistical tools such as Wilcoxon Rank Sum Test, Chi-Squared Test, Point Biserial Correlation and Cramer's V were used to achieve the objectives of this study.The results showed that the pavement condition of FMR significantly impacts the yield, net sales,post-harvest losses, travel time, and Travel Speed of Farmers. There is a strong positive impact on yield and net sales following the reduction of post-harvest losses and travel time.Farmers who have access to concrete FMR, on average, have a shorter time and higher Travel Speed whn accessing the market. Meanwhile, impacts of the pavement condition of FMR on the Farmer's trip to social services and recreational facilities are determined by the spatial position of the rural infrastructure and availability of public transports services in the area.
