Date Issued 1996
Abstract This thesis is generally about the establishment of a pioneer project for the development of the Philippine Cutflower Industry. It is based on the premise that the design of new projects in the Philippines must be guided through the formulation of design guidelines. In making making design guidelines, sustainable development must always be the goal. One method of working towards sustainable development is by employing an ecological approach.

Thus, the thesis employed "teKno-FLORA", an ecological approach in making design guidelines for the establishment of an Integrated Floriculture Service Center, a pioneer projects for the development of the Philippine Cutflower Industry. "teKno-FLORA" links the external environment with the built environment and understands the relationships, conflicts and interactions that occur between and within the two.

The design guidelines were applied in an actual case study for an Integrated Floriculture Service Center in Los BaƱos, Laguna. This serves as a model for similar projects that will be made un future cutflower areas in the Philippines.
