Resource Title Roots: a nature-based early childhood and infant care center
Date Issued May 2025
Abstract In the Philippines, there is a notable struggle to find convenient and straightforward childcare solutions, particularly for infants and toddlers. While Filipino culture is deeply rooted in close family ties, not all parents can rely on family support networks to look after their children while they work, leaving many families in need of alternative care options.
This architectural project proposes the design of a nature-based early childhood development and Infant care center in Antipolo, Rizal, which aims to address the significant gap in the current childcare landscape where Infant care and early education is scarce.
This Comprehensive Design Project explores how architecture can integrate nature-based learning with specialized care for Infants, creating a holistic environment for early childhood development. The design will serve as a precedent for future childcare facilities in the Philippines, setting a new standard for combining nature-based learning, childcare, and sustainable architecture.
