Abstract This study investigates the potential impact and effectiveness of BadyetBox, a personal financial management application designed for Filipino households better manage their spending habits amid rising inflation and the widening income gap between Metro Manila and the Provinces. These are one of major problems these Filipino households face when establishing a budget while also identifying features that promote healthier and more cost-effective eating habits.

The researcher applied a product development methodology that included tools such as Empathy Maps, an Impact Map, the Javelin Experiment Board, a Customer Journey Map, and a Product Development Roadmap to ensure meet the user requirements and align it with the proposed features of BadyetBox.

To be able to evaluate grocery spending patterns, budgeting preferences, and financial practices, Surveys and questionnaires were distributed to different key demographic groups, including families that vary in income levels, professionals, and students. Surveys showed that features such as pantry restock notifications (68%) and retail price comparisons (79.2%), nutritional information (75%), alternative but affordably priced high-quality ingredients (75%), and loyalty rewards (87%), were highly valuable.

Furthermore, BadyetBox features enables users to project grocery spending expenses when creating a grocery list for budgetary adjustments that can be made available to BadyetBox application users. BadyetBox's ease of use and practical features can assist Filipino families in tracking grocery expenses while enhancing their financial literacy. It emphasizes the importance of digital budgeting applications in addressing daily financial concerns and user experience design for sustainable growth and long-term usability.
