| Resource Title | New capability development through technology assimilation: a combined Task-Technology Fit and Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology evaluation of ReportPortal for test automation analysis at Aprimo |
| Date Issued | 1 January 2026 |
| Abstract | This capstone project evaluated ReportPortal, a Machine learning (ML)-enabled test automation analytics (TAA) platform, within Aprimo’s Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) environment. While the initiative involved aspects of technology acquisition, its primary focus was on assessing user adoption and deriving insights to guide recommendations for complete assimilation and capability development. Guided by the Task-Technology Fit (TTF) and Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT), the study evaluated both the technical alignment of ReportPortal with existing test automation workflow and the behavioral factors influencing user acceptance. A mixed-methods case study design was employed, combining an online evaluation survey and a semi-structured interview. The results demonstrated a high degree of task-technology alignment and strong user acceptance, with median scores ranging from 4.00 to 5.00 across all constructs. Qualitative insights supported these findings, emphasizing ReportPortal’s ML-driven classification and time-saving capabilities as major contributors to improved triage efficiency. The study concludes that the platform can be effectively integrated into Aprimo’s CI/CD workflow, enabling the development of new operational and analytical capabilities that strengthen the organization’s overall test-automation maturity. |
