| Abstract | This study focused on the potential of 3D printing technology within the Marikina footwear industry, with the aim of understanding its possible benefits and future developments. The proponent employed scenario-building stages to formulate plausible futures for the integration of 3D printing supported by a relevant literature review, related studies, and inputs from Marikina industry stakeholders. The scenarios presented are part of a strategic planning framework specifically designed for the Marikina footwear industry. The scenarios included strategic planning specifically designed for the Marikina footwear industry. This study focuses on Marikina, but can serve as a pertinent reference for other towns or regions in the Philippines seeking to implement similar technology. The goal of this study is to assist the Marikina footwear industry in improving its implementation of 3D printing technology. By adopting the recommendations from the formulated scenarios, the industry can enhance its strategic goals, promote innovation, and secure the sustainability of Marikina’s legacy as the nation’s shoe capital. |
