| Abstract | Trade secrets are intellectual property rights that are ubiquitous in the Philippine food industry but there is much lacking in terms of education, identification, and protection as compared to other ASEAN countries. Local legislation that protect intellectual properties and fair competition exist but these are broad and neither discusses nor protects trade secrets specifically. Trade secret protection practices exist but, like their national counterpart, is in broad strokes; the level of access to confidential information is assumed to be the same through functions and levels and NDAs are made as such, not taking into account the type of information available to the function and level. This project devised a framework for trade secret management in food commissaries and production plants that takes into account trade secrets that already became tacit knowledge. |
