Date Issued 16 June 2020
Abstract This capstone project addresses innovation management studies concerning small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and Enterprises in Philippines. Innovation is regarded as a crucial source of competitive advantage for any type of organization, or size.

Despite the importance of innovation, there are only few studies on innovation in developing countries so far (Dagmara, Ostraswezka.Turek, & Tylec,2015). The purpose of this research is to obtain insight into the nature of innovation activities in Philippine organizations, identifying key factors that determine their innovativeness.

This is exploratory research that attempts to fill the gaps in academic studies of innovation management, through extensive literature review, knowledge development, and interpretation of innovation behaviors. Analysis performed was based on innovation practices of organizations, with a focus on different types and strategic behaviors.

Based on a synthesis of cross-sectoral studies, the research findings indicate that Philippine organizations involve a number of heterogeneous innovative activities with their own distinctive features.

Through the integration of existing theories, a generic conceptual model is developed for organizations to manage their innovation process and accelerate innovation activities. The model offers a holistic framework for enhancing strategic innovation successfully in a fast-changing environment.
